I started TISTELLA after my third pair of "hypoallergenic" earrings left my ears red and swollen.
If you've ever taken your earrings off before bed because the back was digging into your skin, or avoided wearing jewelry altogether because your ears always turned red and itchy — we've been there too. For years, "hypoallergenic" labels made promises that fell apart after a few wears. Butterfly backs got lost in bedsheets. Cheap metals left behind irritation and frustration.
We wanted to make earrings that solved all of that — not with marketing words, but with the right material and the right design.
The material matters
Every TISTELLA earring is crafted from ASTM F136 implant-grade titanium — the same metal used in surgical implants and bone screws. It's completely nickel-free, fully biocompatible, and designed for long-term contact with the human body. This isn't a buzzword. It's a verifiable international standard.
Our gold-tone earrings are finished with 18K PVD plating — a vacuum-bonding process that fuses the color permanently to the surface. No flaking, no fading, no hidden nickel underneath.
The design disappears
TISTELLA earrings use a flat-back push-pin system. The back is a tiny disc that sits completely flush against your skin — nothing to poke, nothing to snag, nothing to feel. Most of our customers tell us the same thing: they forget the earrings are there.
That's not an accident. That's the whole point.

The 1mm difference no one else bothered with
The entire flat-back earring industry uses a standard 6mm post. For many people, that's fine. But for thinner earlobes, that extra millimeter sticks out, presses against pillows, and creates the exact discomfort flat-backs were supposed to eliminate.
We had our factory custom-produce a 5mm post — shorter, flush, and designed for the wearers no one else was making earrings for. It's a 1mm change. You'll feel the difference the first night.

We're a small team. Every pair is inspected, gently pre-bent for a secure fit, sanitized, and hand-packed before it ships from our US warehouse. We include a free insertion guide pin, a polishing cloth, and a care card with every order — because we want your experience to be right from the moment you open the box.
